₹2.75cr Allotted For Silsako Displaced | Guwahati News – Times of India

Guwahati: The Kamrup (Metro) district administration has sanctioned Rs 2.75 crore in the second phase to compensate 31 families, whose houses were demolished earlier this month in an eviction drive carried out by the Guwahati Municipal Development Authority (GMDA) in order to clear the encroachments in and around Silsako Beel.
The relief amount will be distributed among owners of 14 RCC buildings who will get Rs 10 lakh each and of 17 Assam-type houses who will get Rs 5 lakh each.
The one-time relief has been approved by the district commissioner-cum-chairperson of Kamrup (Metro) District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Pallav Gopal Jha, from the DDMA fund.
According to sources, other evicted families will also get compensation in the coming days.
