SURAT: A 11-year-old boy has been accused of rape and sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl in Athwalines area of the city on Tuesday. Though the incident occurred on March 29, it came to light after the girl complained about pain in her private parts to her mother.
Police have booked the boy under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 354 A (i), 354 (b), 375 (b)(c), 376, 376 (2)(j), 376 (2)(n), 376 (AB), 506 (2) and relevant sections Pocso Act.
The girl will start kindergarten this year while the accused is studying in Class 7, said police. The boy and the girl live in adjacent houses.
According to case details, on March 29 the girl was playing with the boy in the afternoon. While they were playing, suddenly a dog came from somewhere and ran after the girl. The boy tried to shoo away the dog and in the process hit it. Seeing this the girl scolded him. This did not go well with the boy who took the girl to his house and allegedly assaulted her sexually.
According to the police complaint filed by the girl’s mother, the boy also hit the girl on her private part with a ‘chappal’. The boy further threatened the girl and told her not to reveal about the incident to anyone.
Athwalines police inspector D G Rabari said, “After the incident, the girl complained about pain following which her parents took her to a private hospital on March 31. As there were injury marks on her private parts, the doctor referred her to civil hospital. During the hospitalisation, when her parents asked her if anything had happened, she revealed the incident to them.”
An FIR was registered against the boy and investigation has been initiated, added Rabari.
