Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail has not only impressed audiences but has also become a beacon of success in the Indian film industry. Starring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankr, the film has celebrated its 25th triumphant week in theatres. As the movie continues to charm audiences on OTT platforms, its leading actors opened up about their perspectives on the glitz and glamour that accompany the world of acting.

Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Vikrant said, “I make enough money to live a very satisfying life ahead. It’s the same amount of sleep, the same amount of food, the same attire; it’s everyone’s personal choice and there’s nothing wrong with that, but it doesn’t work for me.”

Meanwhile, Medha Shankr said, “Like he said, I think it is a personal choice. I am not attracted to the peripherals…I am openly attracted to the craft of acting only. For me, that is the primary intention. Other things are not even drawn to. So, whatever I do sometimes like making appearances, meeting people, and going to events, that is fine but if it reaches beyond a point, I have the choice that only this much I can do. So, yes, I don’t find myself attracted to those things.”

12th Fail is inspired by the real-life journey of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS Officer Shraddha Joshi. On the professional front, Vikrant has an exciting lineup of projects in the pipeline. The actor will next be seen in Director Ranjan Chandel’s upcoming thriller film, The Sabarmati Report. The movie centres on the events of February 27, 2002, on the Sabarmati Express near the Godhra railway station in Gujarat. It also stars Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna. It also features Ridhi Dogra and Raashi Khanna.

Meanwhile, Medha Shankr started her acting journey with the British miniseries Beecham House (2019) and then appeared in supporting roles in the film Shaadisthan and the series Dil Bekaraar (both 2021). Her breakthrough came with the biographical drama 12th Fail (2023), earning her the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut.
