Nagpur: A 14-month-old boy, Atharva Barmete, was killed while his mother Sandhya and aunt Dipali Patil were left severely injured after their two-wheeler was hit by a truck from behind near Jamtha Stadium. Dipali was driving the scooter with Sandhya and Atharva riding pillion.
112 kg ganja worth ₹42L seized from tractor
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Nagpur, arrested two after intercepting ganja worth ₹42 lakh being ferried in a tractor at Mouda toll naka. The DRI sleuths, following a tip-off, started following the tractor which had a trolley attached to it. Ganja, packed in 100 bags, was kept in a specially designed cavity under the trolley. The DRI sleuths are now grilling the accused to find the details of the network. tnn

DRI seizes antiques worth 27 crore
The Ahmedabad Zonal Unit of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized a misdeclared consignment at Mundra port, uncovering a smuggling racket for antiques and artefacts. The seized goods, which include old statues, vintage utensils, paintings, antique furniture, and other valuables, have an estimated value of Rs 26.8 crore. The consignment was declared as personal effects but was found to have items dating back to the 19th century, made from materials such as marble, precious stones, gold, and silver. 7-month-old dies of dengue in private hospital, Hazaribag on alert
A seven-month-old child in Hazaribag, India, has died from dengue fever. The private hospital where the child passed away failed to inform the district authorities, posing a challenge for the administration to manage the epidemic. The child’s parents initially took him to Ranchi Children’s Hospital, where he was diagnosed with dengue. Instead of following the doctor’s instructions, they returned to Hazaribag and admitted the child to a private hospital. Out of 21 blood samples taken for examination, 15 have tested positive for dengue in Hazaribag district.
