172 Magistrates Deployed for Kartik Purnima in Patna – Ensuring Law and Order | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: The district administration has deployed 172 magistrates at different places in Patna district in view of the Kartik Purnima on Monday. Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh and SSP Rajiv Mishra asked the SDOs and SDPOs to deploy the officials according to the requirement in order to maintain law and order and safety of thousands of devotees, who will take a dip in the Ganga on the occasion.
The DM said the officials have been deployed at 29 places in Patna Sadar, 97 places in Patna City, 35 places in Barh and 11 places in Danapur subdivision. Seven parking spots have been marked at Collectorate, Kurji, Baans Ghat, near gate no 93 and 88 in Kurji area, Gai ghat Hathia Bagan and Gai Ghat Loha godown. The magistrates have been deployed at these places to monitor and control the law and order situation. Apart from the officials, lathi wielding women police and armed forces have been deployed. The SDOs and SDPOs in their area will deploy the forces according to the requirements, he said.
“All the deputed magistrates and police officers will reach their duty place on time and will remain ready there till the peaceful completion of the festival. The magistrates will also play the role of coordinators with all stakeholders, including the disaster management department, municipal bodies, health, PHED and fire brigade. An additional 34 magistrates have been kept in reserve for three shifts in the district control room. Besides, six reserved magistrates have been deputed in the control room formed at Gandhi Ghat,” he said.
Temporary control rooms have been established at Bhadra Ghat, Gai Ghat, Collectorate and Kali Ghat as huge rush is expected at these places. The motorboats, NDRF, SDRF, Civil Defence personnel, divers, life jackets, ambulances, medical team with life-saving drugs and equipment have beendeployed at the ghats. The district administration has banned the plying of unauthorised boats during the day.
SSP Mishra said the SHOs and incharges of police stations will be responsible for the law and order in the areas concerned. They will keep an eye on the rumourmongers on social media platforms and WhatsApp groups.
