2024 US Presidential Bid: Trump Lauds Rival Republican Candidate, An Indian-American

Washington:

Former US President Donald Trump has praised Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy for doing well in the recent Republican primary poll, CBS YouGov reports.

Vivek Ramaswamy has announced his 2024 presidential bid. He is going to contest the Republican presidential primary against Donald Trump and fellow Indian-American candidate Nikki Haley, among others.

In a statement, Donald Trump said that he likes Vivek Ramaswamy because he only has good things to say about him and all the work done by the Trump administration.

Donald Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social, “I am pleased to see that Vivek Ramaswamy is doing so well in the most recent Republican primary poll, CBS YouGov.”

“He’s tied with Mike Pence, and looks like he’s on his way to catching Ron De Sanchimonius. The thing I love about Vivek is that he has a lot to say about “President Trump.” There are only good things and that’s all that the Trump administration has done so successfully. Did – that’s why it’s doing so well. In any event, wish them all the best, they’ll need it!”

Earlier in February, healthcare and tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy announced his bid for the 2024 US presidential election. “We’ve celebrated our “diversity” so much that we’ve forgotten all the ways that Americans are actually similar, bound by the ideals that united a divided, stubborn group of people 250 years ago. I Deep in my bones I believe in those ideals and I am running for President to revive them,” Ramaswamy tweeted in a video announcing his intention to run for President.

He reiterated that this was not just a political campaign, “but a cultural movement”. He said, “Faith, patriotism and hard work have disappeared. They have been replaced by populism, clichédism and gender ideology. We starve for purpose, yet cannot answer what it means to be American. We Longing for that answer.”

In a CBS News/UGov poll of likely Republican primary voters, Mr. Ramaswamy was slightly ahead of Nikki Haley, the former US ambassador to the United Nations.

Vivek Ramaswamy, 37, is a native of Southwest Ohio. His mother was a geriatric psychiatrist and his father worked as an engineer at General Electric. Ramaswamy said, “Diversity” is not our strength. Our strength is the set of ideals that unite us by overcoming our differences. Without that, “diversity” is meaningless.”

He continued, “We live in a culture that rejects truth and embraces relativism; that rejects equality and embraces “sameness”; that rejects excellence and embraces suffering. Hugs.”

Vivek Ramaswamy is the second Indian-American to enter the 2024 Republican presidential primary after Nikki Haley.
