25-year-old youth murdered in North-West Delhi; Search to catch the accused

A 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his partner’s family members after they objected to his relationship with the woman, police said on Tuesday.

According to an official, a PCR call was received around 5.15 pm on Monday that a man was found dead near Kalyan Cinema in Jaffrabad, North East Delhi with stab wounds on his neck and chest.

He said that the victim has been identified as Salman, a resident of Brahmpuri.

A purported video of the incident has gone viral on social media, in which three men can be seen attacking Salman. Just then a pedestrian is seen stopping Salman, who is sitting with the two men on the bike, but he pulls out a weapon from his pants and attacks Salman. The two men accompanying the victim are then seen running away, while two others, along with the pedestrian, attack the victim.

During the investigation, the police came to know that Salman was friends with a woman for the last two years and her family was against the relationship.

“A few days ago, Salman was confronted by his family and asked not to return,” the official said.

“Salman used to go to a gym in the street where he was killed. It appears he went to the gym on Monday as well.”

The girl’s father Manzoor, brother Mohsin and another minor brother allegedly attacked and killed Salman, the official said.

Police said Manzoor and his son, who are absconding at present, have been booked for murder and five teams are conducting raids to nab them.
