Varanasi: Mughalsarai police arrested three persons from Chandhasi in Chandauli district for shooting video of a 14-year-old girl getting frisked and posting it on social media. The girl stays with her uncle’s family for studies.
CO Mughalsarai Aniruddh Singh said on Thursday that Tanvir Alam, Taufiq Alam and Tauhid Alam, all aged between 30 and 40 years, residents of Nai Basti in Chandhasi area were arrested after an FIR under section 354 (outraging modesty of girl) and sections of the IT Act and sent to jail.
Police swung into action after noticing a viral video of the girl on social media platforms. When police investigated, it came to light that the class V girl student of a local school lived in a locality under the limits of Mughalsarai police station with her uncle’s family. On September 18, she entered the house of the accused, while everyone was watching TV. On noticing her, they caught the caught the girl and accused her of being a thief. The three men called their sister and asked her to frisk the girl. Their sister frisked her putting her hand inside the minor girl’s clothes, while the trio shot a video of the act and posted the clip on social media.
