37-yr-old hacked to death in Surat | Surat News – Times of India

SURAT: A simmering enmity between a man and his nephew ended in a macabre climax as the latter was brutally murdered in Udhna’s crowded marketplace as onlookers watched in horror the grisly crime unfolding before their eyes on Thursday.
The 37-year-old man, identified as Bhajan Singh Siklikar, was attacked by four people with swords and his hand was chopped off, minutes after he left his sister’s house after lunch.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the murder was orchestrated by his uncle Bhav Singh who harboured a bitter grudge over a quarrel with the victim during the marriage of a relative in Pune a month ago. After this incident, they clashed thrice and one incident was reported at Pandesara police station.
Udhna police inspector SN Desai told TOI: “During the quarrel, Bhajan Singh had lashed out at Bhavsingh with a kirpan. After the Pandesara incident, a truce was struck but Bhav Singh remained embittered by the assault.”
Bhajan Singh, who lived in the Ganeshnagar locality of Pandesara, had come for lunch at his sister’s house in Udhna. When he was passing from a busy road, four men waylaid his SUV with theirs. Before Bhajan Singh could react, the four dragged him out of the car and started attacking him with swords.
Bhajansingh’s brother named Bhavsingh as the mastermind of the attack and alleged that he operates a gang involved in liquor trafficking and country liquor
Police have mobilized several teams to nab his uncle Bhav Singh, and Baldev Singh Siklikar, Kalu Singh Siklikar and Mohan Singh Siklikar.
