5 phones stolen from Greater Noida, smuggled to Bangladesh; organized | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: UP STF has arrested five members of the gang who allegedly stole phones from companies in Delhi-NCR and took them to Bangladesh via Agartala.
The stolen mobile phones were first sent through air cargo from Delhi to Agartala and from there to Bangladesh with the help of smugglers on the instructions of a person from Gujarat. A total of 105 mobile phones, two Hyundai cars and Rs 9,500 in cash were recovered from the gang.
“We received information about theft of mobile phones from various companies while they were being transported from factories to logistics centers in Delhi-NCR. During investigation, it was revealed that these thefts were perpetrated by a gang who befriended truck drivers or worked as drivers for transport companies linked with mobile firms,” ​​Raj Kumar Mishra , said Additional Superintendent of Police (STF).
On the basis of secret information, it was found that some members of the gang are present in Greater Noida, after which a team nabbed five people – Harsh Bansal, Anil Kumar, Anshu Singh, Keshav Karan And Rajeev Dev- Near Tilpata Golchakkar under Surajpur Police.
“Gang members used to stop trucks carrying mobile phones and use a device to break the magnetic seal securing the cargo. They would then steal the phones and re-seal the truck in this way with the same device. Used to tell that the employees of the warehouse and logistics company would not work. Realize it was tampered with,” Mishra said.
Further, it was learned that the gang managed to get Kumar a job in a transport company named Shadowfax, which used to deliver Samsung brand phones to Malakpur, Aligarh and Gautam Budh Nagar.
The STF claimed that over Rs 19 lakh was paid through hawala to a Karol Bagh-based courier company as part of the smuggling operation.
