6 people trapped in trucks stuck in a swollen river in Gujarat’s Dahod were rescued. Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara: Six people carrying trucks got stuck in the Panam river on the border of Panchmahal and Dahod districts on Saturday morning due to a sudden rise in the water level in the river due to heavy rains.
A man trapped after spending the whole day on the roof of a truck cabin was rescued just before sunset.
Sand is mined on a large scale in the Panama River and trucks went to the river on Saturday morning to fill sand.
However, due to heavy rains, the water started rising at an alarming rate in the river near Bhatwada and the people working on the trucks could not get out in time.
Villagers and firemen rescued five people trapped in the river, but one of them remained on the roof of the truck. By the time this man could be reached, the water level had risen further. Sources said that due to the strong current in the river, the man himself was reluctant to come down from the roof of the truck.
The rescue team eventually decided to bring in a boat to save the man on board the truck. They came to him with a boat and brought him out of the river. The person was identified as Dixit Bharat.
A house collapsed in Tunkivaju village of Garbada taluka in Dahod district on Saturday morning. Sources said that four people were present in the house when it collapsed and got trapped in the debris. He narrowly escaped in the incident.
Widespread rains damaged several roads in Dahod district. Two state transport buses got stuck in a ditch dug on the road to lay a pipeline in Jambuwa village of the district. Earthmovers were brought in to pull them out of the ditch, but the efforts were not successful.
Traffic on the diversion was also affected due to sinking of the diversion for the bridge being constructed on the Garbada-Alirajpur highway. Other minor roads were also damaged due to rain in the district.
