68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023: ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘Brahmastra’ open with wins; Top honors in technical categories – Times of India

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’ won the 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 by taking top honors in the technical categories.
The host for the evening, Salman Khan took the show on the road by handing over the coveted Black Lady to artistes and technicians who have worked behind the scenes on some of the biggest films of the industry. This year, various films competed in 12 categories, including Best Editing, Best Sound Design, Best VFX, among others.

Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Alia Bhatt in the lead, led the technical categories with 8 nominations. Coming close behind with 7 nods was Varun Dhawan’s ‘Bhediya’ and Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’.
Gangubai was in contention to win by winning the opening awards for Best Costume Design, Best Background Score, Best Choreography among others. At the same time, Brahmastra received the award for Best VFX and Best Sound Design.
