75 lakh cash recovered from Raj Congress worker’s car. Surat News – Times of India

Surat: A Static Surveillance Team (SST) of the District Election Office recovered cash worth Rs 74.82 lakh from a car at Jadakhadi in Mahidharpura area on Tuesday night. When the team checked the car, three people were present in it but during checking one of them escaped.
The SST examined the car on the basis of specific information received from it. Uday Singh Ramkrishna Gurjar resident Mohd. Rajasthan Rajasthanand Faiz Riaz Syed of Rander area were detained by the SST for questioning and later handed over to the Income Tax Department for further questioning.
Sources told that Gurjar A Congress The worker is from Rajasthan and he is camping in the city to work for the Congress. Gurjar told the SST officials that he had no knowledge about the money. Syed was the driver of the car.
Both told the SST officials that the cash was brought from Shri Ram Angadiya but they failed to provide the location. “It is being probed from where the cash was collected and where it was to be delivered,” an official said.
Sources in the election office said that some campaign pamphlets of the Congress and near Rahul Gandhiwere found in the rally car. Police and SST officials, however, refused to divulge details about any other material recovered from the car.
The Congress, on its part, said that the party has nothing to do with the recovered cash. “Government officials are trying to malign the image of the Congress. Let IT investigate. This will clarify things,” said Congress spokesperson Naishad Desai.
