According to the information, all are residents of Rojid village of Botad and most drank alcohol on Sunday night. Out of the sick, 5 have been admitted to Civil Hospital, Botad, while 5 critical patients have been referred to Sir Tea Hospital in Bhavnagar.

According to the Botad police, all the people who were victims of spurious liquor had gone to Nabhoi village near Rojid on Sunday night and drank alcohol. On Monday morning everyone started having stomach ache and vomiting. Family members took him to the hospital. Two people had died in the morning itself, after which 6 more people died one by one during the treatment.
