KENDRAPADA: An eight-year-old student fell into a pot of boiling water meant for cooking midday meals at a village school in Odisha’s Kendrapada on Thursday. The Class III boy sustained burn injuries on his back.
“Some students were in the kitchen during the food preparation. Suddenly Aahwahan Nayak, a Class III student, fell into the pot filled with boiling water.I immediately pulled him out,” said Bidulata, the cook at Ananat Narayan Upper Primary School at Bahakandia village.
He was first taken to community health centre which then referred him to district headquarters hospital. “The boy’s condition is stable. We are investigating the case,” said Kendrapada Sadar SHO.
