Mumbai: A group of politicians including former state home minister Anil Deshmukh, Shiv Sena member and transport minister Anil Parab, deputy CM Ajit Pawar and NCP MP Supriya Sule Former Mumbai Police Commissioner said, had recommended transfer-deployment of police officers Param Bir Singh In his statement to CBI
His statement is attached in the chargesheet filed recently in a special court against Deshmukh, his private secretary Sanjeev Palande and PA Kundan Shinde. Copies of the charge sheet were handed over to the accused on Monday. The CBI has sought mandatory sanction to prosecute Deshmukh and Palande (Additional Collector), which is awaited.
Singh was part of the Police Establishment Board which would decide on such postings. Other leaders named by Singh include Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat, Shiv Sena member and Industries Minister Subhash Desai, Jayant Patil, Rajesh Tope, Aslam Sheikh and Nawab Malik,
There was no allegation that these transfer postings were made for any consideration.
Singh said the posting and transfer of officers was done arbitrarily after ignoring the seniority and eligibility criteria, where he had mentioned about posting of two. ips officer, He did not specify whether money was exchanged for these transfer-postings.
He also said that Deshmukh directed that now the orchestra should sack the constable Sachin Vaze for collecting Rs 100 crore from the bar owners. He said he has informed the NCP chief Sharad Pawarcm Uddhav Thackeray, Ajit Pawar, Anil Parab and Jayant Patil told about Deshmukh’s antics. He said the CM and his son Aditya had demanded restoration of Waze.
