While six students were hospitalized with severe headaches due to the smell, eight others reportedly fell ill.
Six students at a Texas school were rushed to the hospital by a pungent odor. Criminal? A high school student who applied “fart spray”. The noxious smell was initially thought to be a gas leak, prompting fire officials and hazard response teams to spend three days investigating. However, a student at Caney Creek High School later confessed to the foul play.
According to a report in the New York Post, a pungent smell was detected last Wednesday, due to which all the students were evacuated. The school building was thoroughly checked by the Fire and Rescue Department with gas detection equipment, but no signs of leakage or fire were found. Despite the stench, the students returned to class the next day.
The same day, the situation worsened as six students were hospitalized after suffering severe headaches from the smell. At least eight other people have been reported ill, according to officials. After this, classes were called off for the rest of the week. It wasn’t until the student responsible for the prank came forward and confessed to using Hansgaukt Fart Spray, that “produces a smell like real poo and fake vomit”. The mystery is solved, ending the days of confusion and fear in high school.
“We have received notice from Caney Creek High School. Due to the hard work of Caney Creek High School staff and Conroe ISD police, a student admitted to bringing a highly concentrated, mischievous, smelly spray called Hensgott Fart Spray. Caney Creek High Caney Creek Fire & Rescue is proud to serve and protect all students and staff at the school,” the fire and rescue department’s Facebook post read.
The Internet quickly took note of the situation. They filled the comments section with concerns. “All the ruckus and undue interruption because of a kid? I hope he learns a lesson from this. Great job handling the situation!!! Thanks!” wrote a social media user. Another believed that the school should be held accountable for incidents such as the recent “fart spray” prank. The user suggested that the school should apologize and cover the hospital fees of the affected students.
According to the news portal, the school administrators suspect that the teenager was not acting alone. The incident has raised concerns over school safety and the use of such pranks can have serious consequences. It is yet unknown what disciplinary action was taken against the student and whether the school will take any further measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
