Bathinda: Former Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal is on the radar of Punjab Vigilance Bureau Bathinda The unit has sent him a notice to appear on July 24.

The bureau has directed Manpreet to file his reply and provide relevant documents.

Manpreet is constructing a house on a plot of about 2,500 square yards purchased from the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA) in Phase 1 of Model Town, located on Mansa Road in Bathinda.
Singla had said in his complaint that the price of the plot should have been between Rs 75,000 and Rs 90,000 per square yard, but on September 27, 2021, PUDA under its influence allotted plot numbers 725 and 726 to two persons at Rs 25,371 per square yard from whom Manpreet had purchased the land. Singla has complained that these plots have been bought against the rules.
Both Singla and Manpreet have contested two assembly elections against each other in 2017 and 2022. He also remained in SAD, which was left by Manpreet in 2010 and Singla in 2022.
