BJP president JP Nadda on Saturday said his party humbly accepts the mandate of the people of Karnataka and will continue to raise their voice by playing the role of a constructive opposition.
The Congress returned to power on its own in Karnataka after 10 years, ousting the BJP from its lone southern enclave on Saturday as voters decisively backed the grand old party seeking an electoral revival ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. .
In a tweet, Mr Nadda thanked those who voted for the party in the Karnataka assembly elections and the workers of the Karnataka unit of the BJP for their efforts.
“BJP humbly accepts the mandate of the people of Karnataka. I thank the hardworking workers of @BJP4Karnataka for their efforts and the faith shown in our vision,” he added.

He said, “BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will continue to work for the betterment of the people and will actively raise its voice by playing the role of a constructive opposition.”
According to the latest trends on the Election Commission website, the Congress has won 136 seats and is well ahead of the majority mark of 113. BJP has won 65 seats.
