Guwahati: Unidentified assailants attacked a senior lawyer with acid in Kokrajhar district of Assam. The police gave this information on Saturday.
The incident took place in Gosaigaon area on Friday. The victim has been identified as Abdus Samad AhmedA resident of Padmabil village, who represents Gossaigaon Lawyers Association as a senior advocate.
According to the police, the attackers allegedly barged into Ahmed’s house and threw acid on his face. he was rushed RNB Civil Hospitalbut was later transferred to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
A case has been registered and investigation is on.
Meanwhile, the Gosaigaon Bar Association has demanded strict action against the culprits involved in the incident.
