Action continues on Imran Khan’s party at Parvez Elahi’s residence in Lahore

by India Today World Desk: Amid Pakistan government crackdown on Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Punjab Police has reached the Lahore residence of PTI Chairman Pervez Elahi, who is facing arrest in a corruption case.

Dawn reported that Elahi could be arrested in a case related to irregularities in development projects initiated during his tenure as Punjab chief minister.

Reports said that the PTI leader approached a court in Lahore for pre-arrest bail in the case, but the court rejected his plea.

Last month, police conducted a late-night raid at his residence to take Elahi into custody, but officials could not find him.

Iman Khan had said at the time, “Strongly condemn the illegal raid on Parvez Elahi’s house, which has no respect for the women and family members present. We are seeing democracy end in Pakistan before our eyes.” ”
