HYDERABAD: Continuing the upward trend, the state witnessed 640 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases to 8,11,616.
The number of active cases stood at 4,492. Of the new cases, 227 were reported in Hyderabad alone, followed by: Ranga Reddy With 50 cases and Medchal Malkajgiri with 45 cases. Other districts of the state which saw an increase include Bhadadri, Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Sangareddy and Hanumakondaamong others.
On Wednesday, 659 patients were cured, taking the total number of cured people to 8,03,013. The current positivity rate is 2.3%, while the recovery rate is 98.9%. The death toll stands at 4,111, as no new deaths were recorded.
A total of 31,265 samples were tested on Wednesday. With this, the state has now completed testing of 3.61 crore samples and has reached to 9.70 lakh sample tests per million population.
