Adah Sharma Responds To People Still Calling Kerala Story Propaganda: ‘Google Two Words ISIS And Brides’

Amidst all the controversies, Adah Sharma and Sudipto Sen’s ‘The Kerala Story’ managed to release. The film faced backlash ever since the trailer was unveiled. Ahead of the film’s release, both Adah Sharma, who played the lead role in the film, and director Sudipto Sen tried their best to clarify the film’s agenda and urged everyone not to call it a propaganda film. Even after the release, the film is facing many criticisms for being anti-religious.

Adah Sharma has finally given a reply to those who are still calling the film a propaganda film. He tweeted, “And for some people who are still calling #TheKeralaStory a propaganda film, saying these incidents don’t exist even after seeing testimonials of many Indian victims, my humble request, Google two The words ISIS and brides…perhaps an account you heard about white girls you might think our Indian film is real”.

Keeping the backlash behind, the film has also garnered praise from the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Adah also thanked those who are appreciating the film. He tweeted and expressed his gratitude for the appreciation he was getting. She wrote, “Standing ovation in the theatre, Honorable PM mentioning our film #TheKeralaStory, Critics and audience applauding my performance, Housefull messages from so many of you, Bumper opening! I could never have dreamed of this much.” For me all your dreams are coming true #Greatful”.

Vivek Agnihotri, director of The Kashmir Files, has also penned a long warning note for the Kerala story team. He recalls being ‘physically, professionally assaulted’ for The Kashmir Files, warns Kerala story team of ‘unimaginable hatred’. He posted a long note in which he told the film’s producer Vipul Shah, director Sudipto Sen and actor Adah Sharma that from now on his life would ‘not be the same’. He warned that they would ‘receive unimaginable hatred, feel suffocated, confused and discouraged’.

So far The Kerala Story has earned over Rs 8 crore at the domestic box office. It was released on Friday. Meanwhile, the film remains a subject of debate. It came under fire after the release of the trailer, which claimed that 32,000 girls from the state went missing and later joined the terrorist group, ISIS.
