Adipurush is a 3D film based on the mythological story of Valmiki’s Ramayana.

Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in the lead, released on June 16. The film is based on the Hindu mythological epic Ramayana. However, since its release, the film has been facing massive backlash from the audience for allegedly distorting the epic. People have expressed disappointment over the film’s dialogues and portrayal of Ravana and Lord Hanuman. Even though the makers changed the infamous ‘Kapda tere baap ka’ dialogue last month, it had no effect and many people demanded a boycott of the film.
Last week, Adipurush writer Manoj Muntashir also accepted that the film hurt the sentiments of people and issued a public apology. “I accept that sentiments of people have been hurt by Adipurush. I apologize unconditionally with folded hands. May Lord Bajrang Bali keep us united and give us strength to serve our holy Sanatan and our great nation,” he wrote.
