Kriti Sanon opens up about Kangana Ranaut joining politics.
Kriti Sanon, whose new film Crew has been creating a lot of buzz at the box office, talks about her political aspirations.
Kriti Sanon has established herself as one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood. Without having any connections in the film industry, Kriti has worked with several prominent filmmakers and actors including Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan and Shahid Kapoor among others. She is currently gearing up for the release of her first ever production ‘Do Patti’ which she has produced under her banner Blue Butterfly Films. Apart from this, she has launched her skincare line and invested in number of other businesses. So what’s next for Ms. Sanon?
At the Times Now Summit 2024, Kriti was asked if she was willing to join politics like her fellow actress Kangana Ranaut, who is set to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi. “I have never thought of that,” Kriti responded. “I never think that I will do this or that until it comes from within and until I am not very passionate about it. If someday it comes in my heart that I want to do something more, maybe then,” she added.
Kangana is set to fight the Lok Sabha election from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi on the BJP’s ticket. Last week, the Saffron Party released its fifth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls fielding Kangana, who is a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from her birthplace. The actress was born in Bhambla near Manali, which is in the Mandi district.
Meanwhile, Kriti’s newly released Crew has opened to mixed reviews. News18 Showsha rated the film 3.5/5. A part of the review stated, “Tabu, Kareena and Kriti look drop dead gorgeous and kudos to the costume department for the same! The women involved with putting the film together – co-producers Rhea Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor and co-writer Nidhi Mehra deserve applause. Because womanhood in Crew is never used as a device to push out loaded statements on modern-day feminism even while portraying women as ambitious and unapologetic beings and celebrating sisterhood. The protagonists are flawed and relatable but not undesirable.”
