Examination and Congress charges

In October last year, over 400 Kanungoes had appeared for the exam for promotion to the post of Naib Tehsildar. There are eight papers in all, all of which must be passed in order to be promoted to Kanungo. The results were declared in March, candidates who failed were allowed to apply for revaluation within the next month. The revaluation results were declared in June 67 out of 120 applicants passed.

In a series of tweets, Sharing the results of the revaluation processKhaira Bholath is MLA alleged The candidates who had applied for revaluation and wanted to be promoted had paid Rs 1 lakh per paper to the revenue department.

Notably, the Congress leader – who was with the AAP from 2015 to 2018 and served as the Leader of the Opposition in 2017-18 – asked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann To investigate how, out of 64 applicants who failed in the Urdu paper, 43 were declared passed in the re-examination.Evaluation.

Speaking to ThePrint, Khaira said, “First of all, the fact is that out of 120 Kanungoes who failed in the written test, 67 managed to clear it after revaluation. This raises serious questions on the method of the original examination and its result. Generally, the pass percentage of any exam changes only by a percentage or two after revaluation. But in this case, more than 50 per cent of the candidates were re-evaluated in a manner that helped them clear the exam in which they had failed.

“The revaluation may have made only a slight difference or an increase of a few marks, but in this case it changed the entire result. In some cases, the marks of the candidates actually doubled. The most interesting thing was that the maximum number of kanungos who failed in Urdu subject passed after revaluation. Does it mean that the original checking of answer sheets of Urdu subject was so poor that 43 out of 64 Kanungoes who applied for revaluation in Urdu examination got sufficient marks to be declared passed.

Khaira further claimed that he was told that candidates paid Rs 1 lakh per subject to senior officials in the revenue department to help them clear the exam through revaluation. “Since there was now a cloud on the revaluation results, the 43 candidates who had managed to clear the Urdu test should be asked to read and write in Urdu to check whether they actually know the language.”
