After Seamless Supply On Holi, Power Cuts Are Back To Usual | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: Residents of several sectors including 105, 122, 19, and 26, among others, faced intermittent power cuts on Tuesday morning, a day after seamless supply on Holi. In Sector 105, residents reported a loud noise in the transformer, leading to an outage. In other areas, local faults caused frequent tripping and power cuts.
“There was a blast in the B block transformer at around 10.30am, followed by another blast within five minutes. This led to no power in the sector for a couple of hours,” said Vipin Kumar Jain, a resident of Sector 105.
Rajeev Kumar Dublish, RWA general secretary of Sector 105 told TOI that a feeder breakdown led to the power cut in the sector.
“The feeder breakdown occurred due to a burnt fuse on the 11,000 kW line. Fuse burns are normal as they get burnt if a high current passes through the line. The supply feeder has been repaired and the fuse replaced,” reassured Kapil Muni, sub-divisional officer (SDO) of Noida power department (PVVNL). Similarly, other sectors faced intermittent power cuts. “There was a brief power cut in the sector which resumed after a while,” said Umesh Sharma, RWA president of Sector 122.
Laxmi Narain, RWA general secretary of Sector 19 complained of a one-hour power cut due to a sudden fault in the C block of the sector.
“Before Holi celebrations, there was a scheduled power shutdown of 4-5 hours to complete the maintenance and upgrade work of the supply system and the transformers in the sector, yet we had to face inconveniences,” added Narain.
“Local outages were caused due to technical snags during the repair and upgrading works,” said Rajeev Mohan, chief engineer, PVVNL.
