Go First Crisis: Speaking on the GoFirst insolvency case, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said the airline will have to submit its plan to the DGCA regarding the number of planes and routes, after which the aviation watchdog will decide how to take it forward.

“We have said very clearly that we want to resume flights as soon as possible. They will have to submit their plan to the DGCA which will include the number of aircraft, the number of routes. Based on that plan, the DGCA will then Will decide how to take it forward,” Jyotiraditya Scindia said.
On Wednesday, crisis-hit GoFirst extended the suspension of flight operations till May 26 citing operational reasons and expressed hope that it would be able to resume bookings soon.
GoFirst, which is undergoing insolvency resolution process, had stopped flying since May 3.
Besides this, aviation regulator DGCA had directed the cash-strapped airline to stop bookings till further orders. The budget carrier said in an update on its website that due to operational reasons, “flights stand canceled until May 26, 2023”.
It added, “Full refund to the original mode of payment will be issued shortly… As you are aware, the company has filed an application for immediate resolution and resumption of operations. We will soon Will be able to resume booking.”
The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on 10 May accepted the voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings of the airline. Abhilash Lal has been appointed as the interim resolution professional (IRP) to manage the carrier’s affairs.
Some of the lessees have also moved the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) against the NCLT decision.
Meanwhile, a claims management portal ‘gofirstclaims.in/claims’ has been launched for the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) of Go First.
