Airtel AirFiber Plan: Key Changes and Impact on Users | – Times of India

Airtel launched its fixed wireless broadband service — Xstream AirFiber — in India. The service relies on the company’s 5G network and is currently available in select cities. Right now, as per the website, the services are available in Noida and Ghaziabad. And, the company is expected to make it available to more regions soon.
But, before that, the telecom service provider currently offers only one plan for AirFiber and it has made an important change to it.
TelecomTalk has reported that Airtel has made some changes to the benefits offered by the AirFiber plan. Also, the website now features a new router design for AirFiber. At the time of launch, the AirFiber router shown on the website was vertical, in terms of design. However, now, the website shows a regular router-like design.
Unlimited data benefit is gone
At the time of launch, Airtel was offering unlimited data benefits with the AirFiber plan. However, as per the recent report, the unlimited data benefits have been removed in favour of 1TB of FUP (Fair Usages Policy). The change, we assume comes, after the TRAI’s new FUP policy. Once this limit is reached, the speed undergoes a reduction to 2 Mbps. In a positive move, subscribers gain complimentary access to Xstream Premium.
Bharti Airtel’s Xstream AirFiber service, operating on 5G Fixed-Wireless Access (FWA), now boasts a 100 Mbps speed option for customers. Previously confined to a prepaid 6-month offering, the service has expanded to include a 12-month plan, providing subscribers with more flexibility.
For those opting for the six-month plan, the cost amounts to Rs 6,657, covering GST and a Rs 1000 installation fee. The 12-month plan, priced at Rs 11,314, not only includes all associated costs but also exempts users from an additional installation fee.
