Ajay Bahl clarifies his stance around the completion status of Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘The Lady Killer’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar‘s ‘The Lady Killer‘ released on Friday suddenly with no promotions of the film or any marketing. It just released unannounced which left many in a state of shock. The film had released in only some parts, perhaps just a dozen theatres and 293 tickets were sold. Director Ajay Bahl of ‘BA Pass’ fame reacted to one of the Youtube videos criticising the movie and said that the film is incomplete and hence it seems disjointed and choppy.
Now the director has clarified this stance and said that his statement has been misconstrued. Balh has now said in a statement, “It’s a humorous take on a baseless rumour circulating about the film’s completion status. I understand that humour and sarcasm can sometimes be misinterpreted. I want to emphasize that ” The Lady Killer” is a complete film which has been released for the audiences and I am immensely proud of this project. I am grateful for the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in bringing this film to fruition.’’
‘The Lady Killer’ made only Rs 38,000 and that made the film the biggest flop till date. Neither of the lead actors have promoted the movie on their social media or even shared the film’s trailer, which was released just four days before the release. Clearly, this step has come as a big shock and is something unusual for a movie. This further is surprising because the lead actors were quite excited for the film and the way their roles had shaped up.
