Masterpiece fame Ajay Vasudev has made his foray into production with a short film. The short film is tentatively titled Production No. 1. Pooja and the first shot of the film was done in Kochi, Kerala. It is directed by debutant Chefin Zulfikar, while Ajay, Asif MA and Susina Asif have produced the film. Sheffin worked as an assistant director with Ajay before making his debut as a director with the production No. 1. Mala Parvathy, Manoj KU, Faha Fatima, Firoz Shamir and others play lead roles in the film. Aldrin Pazampilly has written the story of the film.

It tells the story of Michael (Kunchako), a wildlife photographer. He begins his journey from Kochi to Mysore and decides to halt at a village near the Kerala-Karnataka forest border. What happens then becomes the main theme of the film. Pakalum Paathiravum was a box-office disappointment and was criticized by the audience for every aspect.
Barring Masterpiece, Ajay has not been successful in delivering successful films as a director. His films Shylock and Rajadhi Raja flopped at the box office.
On the work front, Ajay is also looking forward to his next film as an actor titled Picasso. He will be starring alongside Amrita Saju, Ashish Gandhi, Zafar Idukki, Charlie Joe and other actors. Najila B. Produced by EH Sabeer, the film is directed by Sunil Kariyattukara and has written the story, screenplay and dialogues. Shaan P Rahman handled the cinematography. Looking at the trailer, it seems that Picasso is an action thriller.
Ajay will also star in the film Marathakam directed by Ansaj Gopi. Dheepu N Babu and Ansaj have written the story of this film. Bibin George, Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Kalabhavan Shajon and other actors also play lead roles. The film is produced by Anto Joseph Film Company and AL Taari Movies. Marathakam is in the post-production stage. Ajay will also play the lead role in the film Anuradha Crime No. 59/2019 directed by Jose Thomas and Shaan Thulasi.
