Fans of Akshay Kumar’s hit film Oh My God have a reason to rejoice as the much-awaited sequel Oh My God 2 is all set to hit the theatres. According to Pinkvilla, the makers will soon announce the release date of the film. Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam will also be seen in the film.

As mentioned by Pinkvilla, “Akshay Kumar along with his collaborators, Ashwin Varde, Viacom18 and Jio Studios have decided on a theatrical release for Oh My God 2. There are many discussions during the making, but, Oh My God 2 was always announced as a theatrical venture. The officials never commented on the OTT release and even today the film is being read as a theatrical venture. Final edit locked at the moment Is going and is being worked on. Theatrical release date of Oh My God 2 will be announced soon.”

In the second installment, Akshay will be seen in the role of Lord Shiva and this time the film will focus on sex education. In the first part as well, the Selfie actor played the role of Lord Krishna. Paresh Rawal was also a part of this film. The success of the first film, released in 2012, has raised anticipation for a sequel. Oh My God struck a chord with audiences by challenging conventional beliefs and raising important questions about religion and superstition in a light-hearted but impactful way. With “Oh My God 2”, the filmmakers aim to continue this legacy, offering an engaging story that sparks conversation and leaves a lasting impression.

“Spinning a franchise of a favorite like Oh My God 2 is a responsibility and the team is well aware of all the expectations of the audience. The release plans are currently being worked out behind the scenes, and the team is all set to bring their social comedy to the big screen this year,” Pinkvilla reported.

On a work note, Akshay has many interesting projects lined up this year. Apart from Oh My God 2, he will be seen in the remake of Soorarai Pottru and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, co-starring Tiger Shroff. He then also has the third installment of Hera Pheri, co-starring Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. The makers are yet to reveal more details about the plot.
