The official said that the investigation revealed that Ansari and his associates had declared their allegiance to the ISIS, also known as the Islamic State.
“Ansari was also active in radicalising the new converts and attracting them to the terror outfit to enrich the cadre base of IS in India. He was in touch with foreign-based ISIS operatives, who helped him join the banned outfit,” the official said. Guidance for recruitment.
“Along with other IS members, he was planning violent actions and was considering ‘hijrat’ (emigration) to IS conflict theaters abroad,” the agency said.
The NIA had registered a case on July 19 under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
