‘all 20 Ls Seats Important For Cpi’ | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam has said the Congress in the state is having an unholy nexus with the BJP. This was the reason why the Congress stayed away from the LDF protest against the Narendra Modi govt in New Delhi.
This BJP-Cong alliance will get defeated in the ensuing Lok Sabah elections in the state. The people of the state are with the LDF and this was reflected in the response received during the Nava Kerala Sadas.
He said for the CPI all the 20 Lok Sabha seats in the state are significant. “The CPI is ready to face the election. But if Rahul Gandhi decides to contest again from Wayanad, then the Congress will have to answer several questions at the national level. However, the CPI cannot question the authority of the Congress to decide its candidate in Wayanad,” he said.
Viswam asked, “If there is a hung Parliament after the next elections, can the UDF in the state swear that their MPs will not switch sides?” He was referring to UDF MP N K Premachandran attending the luncheon meeting arranged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said it was a drama staged by Modi and Premachandran could not realize it.
The CPI secretary also flayed the reports that there was severe criticism against state govt in the party state council meeting. He said several issues had come up for discussion in the meeting and all those should not be considered as criticism against the govt.
