Amidst the promotion of her upcoming film Gadar 2, Ameesha Patel on Saturday surrendered before the Ranchi Civil Court in a 2018 check bounce case. According to ANI, the court soon granted him conditional bail. He has also been asked to appear in court in person on June 21.
The matter is of 2018 when Amisha had come to attend a program at Harmu Ground in Ranchi. She met businessman Ajay Kumar Singh there and discussed financing a film with him. Singh is the owner of Lovely World Entertainment. Singh invested in the film production project. However, the film did not see the light of the day.
He demanded Ameesha to return his money. He returned the amount of Rs 2.50 crore through check but the check bounced. In November 2021, Ameesha was in news for a similar reason when her check of Rs 32.25 lakh given to UTF Telefilms bounced.
Ameesha Patel is all set to return to the silver screen with Gadar 2 currently starring Sunny Deol. The film begins at the end of Gadar with Sunny playing the character of Tara Singh and Ameesha playing his love interest Sakina. Recently, Gadar 2 courted controversy after a romantic video of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel walking hand-in-hand to a gurudwara was leaked on the internet. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) lashed out at the makers on social media. GPC general secretary Gurcharan Singh Grewal reprimanded Sunny Deol for the scene and expressed displeasure.
Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma took to Twitter to react to the controversy. In a long Twitter note, the filmmaker apologized for hurting any religious sentiments and said that the leaked video is unedited.
