Mahindra shared a 30-second clip on X (formerly Twitter) that showed a robot cleaning a bathroom by itself.
“A robot Janitor by Somatic; cleaning bathrooms all by itself? Amazing! As automakers, we are accustomed to using a variety of Robots in our factories. But this application, I admit, is far more important. We need them… NOW,” said Mahindra, who has been a regular on the Elon Musk-owned microblogging platform.
Mahindra received a response, “inko b tip milegi” (they will also get tips) to which he responded with a “smiling face with smiling eyes” emoji.
Elon Musk showcases Tesla’s humanoid robot
Recently, Musk showed off the latest model of Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus, working in a factory. He shared a clip of the robot folding a shirt. In the short clip, the Tesla humanoid robot retrieves a black t-shirt from a bucket and proceeds to fold it with ease.
“Optimus folds a shirt,” he said in the post.
In the subsequent post, the billionaire clarified that the robot cannot do this (fold a shirt) autonomously but will be able to do it sometime later.
“Important note: Optimus cannot yet do this autonomously, but certainly will be able to do this fully autonomously and in an arbitrary environment (won’t require a fixed table with [a] box that has only one shirt),” he added.
In December, Musk shared a video in which the second generation of the Optimus robot was seen doing human-like tasks like handling eggs, walking and dancing.
