Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM), the state designated agency, led by BEE in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Power, organized an investment market conference to promote investment in industrial energy efficiency here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ashok Kumar said that a roadmap for a sustainable and holistic approach to the National Energy Efficiency (Lighting) Program has been prepared by the Union Ministry of Power to achieve 45% reduction in energy efficiency measures under various funding schemes. was introduced to enhance implementation. in emissions by 2030.

He said the investment market was one such initiative to showcase in the presence of banks, financial institutions and representatives of industries to finance viable Energy Efficiency (EE) projects. The country has an estimated investment potential of about Rs 13 lakh crore in the category of energy efficiency. He said that AP State through APSECM has been a pioneer in organizing investment markets in the country and so far maximum EE projects have been identified by BEE’s Facilitation Center in Andhra Pradesh. The state has set up a Financial Institutions Committee to finance EE projects at the local level itself.

He said that APSECM was fully cooperating with BEE in designing interest subsidy schemes for industries and Andhra Pradesh was the first state, which proposed to launch a scheme with 5% interest subvention, which would help micro, small And there will be a big impact on medium enterprises (MSMEs). , The scheme was being examined by the Union Ministry of Finance and the scheme was expected to support energy efficiency projects in industries worth over ₹15,000 crore that would be rolled out nationally over the next five years.

A Chandrasekhara Reddy, Chief Executive Officer, APSECM, while delivering the keynote address said that the energy saving potential was estimated to be around 25% (16000 MU) out of the total demand of around 66530 MU per annum in various major sectors including industries in Andhra Pradesh . , municipalities, agriculture and commercial.
