Andhra Pradesh: Women’s T20 cricket league of Andhra Cricket Association will start from June 4

Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) will organize the Women’s T20 Cricket League in a grand manner for the second consecutive year from June 4 to 11 at Northu Jose Academy Ground in Vizianagaram.

Addressing a press conference at the Dr YSR ACA VDCA Stadium on Saturday, Honorary Secretary Gopinath Reddy said Andhra Pradesh became the first state to host the Women’s T20 last year. The T20 organized for women players was not only a great platform to showcase their talent but also laid the foundation for their future. It also has four female players to participate in the Indian Women’s Premier League.

He said that four teams Vizag Dolphins, Rayalaseema Queens, Vizianagaram Royals and Bezwada Blazers will participate in the Women’s T20. Both the matches will be held in the morning (9 am to 12.30 am) and 1.30 pm to 5 pm. Gopinath Reddy said, “The matches will be telecast live on DD Sports and we are confident that this will provide an immersive experience to the players.”

Actress Rashmi Gautam, who is now the brand ambassador of the Women’s T20 Cricket League, said that the Andhra Cricket Association has played a big role in showcasing budding talent in the state. “The first season was very successful and we hope this season will be even more successful,” he added.

ACA CEO Siva Reddy said that cricket in Andhra Pradesh has achieved remarkable growth in all fields in the last few years.
