Lawyers for four women have threatened to sue controversial influencer Andrew Tate in the English courts over allegations of sexual harassment.
Former kickboxer Tate – who is under house arrest in Romania for alleged human trafficking and rape – was served legal papers by British law firm McCue Jury & Partners.
A statement from the law firm on Wednesday described the women’s allegations as “including violent rape, aggravated physical assault, and controlling and coercive behaviour”.
It added that the women had “given notice to Tate that, depending on their response, legal proceedings will be initiated against them at the High Court in London in the coming weeks”, the firm said.
The women, who are now in their late twenties and early thirties, say the crimes took place between 2013-2016 when the Tate was based in Britain.
A Tate spokesperson said in a statement, “Andrew Tate categorically denies the veracity of the allegations made by anonymous women’s lawyers in the UK.”
The statement said three women had filed criminal complaints, which the UK authorities had decided to dismiss.

Romanian police arrested Tate, 36, and his brother Tristan, 34, late last year. A Romanian court placed him under house arrest in late March after three months of preventive detention on charges of human trafficking and rape.
They deny all the allegations.
On Tuesday, prosecutors informed the brothers and two other suspects that they were now being investigated “on an ongoing basis” for human trafficking, a spokeswoman for the Organized Crime Prosecution Unit (DIICOT) told AFP.
The offense is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Prosecutors expect to send the case to court by the end of June, according to a source familiar with the investigation.
The brothers, and two Romanians also investigated, allegedly trafficked, recruited and exploited women by coercing them into pornographic acts “with a view to producing and disseminating such material”.
In 2016, Tate appeared on the “Big Brother” reality television show in Britain, but was removed after a video surfaced showing him assaulting a woman.
He then turned to social media platforms to promote his divisive views. He currently has 6.9 million followers on Twitter.
Offering tips on how to be successful, along with misogynistic and sometimes violent sayings, her videos have made her one of the world’s most famous influencers.
