according to a series of tweets By Mishaal Rahman, the Android 14 update will introduce a partial screen recording feature that will allow users to choose to record an app. During recording, there is no system notification interruption and even the status bar is hidden.

However, the option to record the entire screen will still be available and it will continue to work in the same way, i.e. recording will include all system notifications and show the contents of the status bar as it was recording.

The partial screen recording option reportedly allows users to select from an app list, which they can select by swiping up on the app chooser dialog. Users will also be allowed to select from the last three used apps from the carousel by swiping left and right.

The tipster also noted that it will continue to record until the screen recording is manually ended. If recording is on and the user leaves the app, recording will continue but the recorded content will be black. Once the user reopens the app, the content will resume recording in the same file. To stop recording, users will reportedly have to swipe down and turn off the partial screen recording feature.
