Anti-modi Farmer Unions Face Pro-modi Hans Campaigners | Chandigarh News – Times of India

Bathinda: Farmer unions continued to oppose BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate Hans Raj Hans on the second day of his campaign in Faridkot by showing black flags to his Moga roadshow, but they got outnumbered. At one point, those rooting for Narendra Modi came face to face with those booing the Prime Minister, and police had a tough time separating them.
The unions kept the situation peaceful by avoiding an argument with the campaigners.Hans, who was being showered with flower petals when the farmers approached his vehicle, started showering those petals upon the farmers, but it failed to cool them down. The farmers have given a call to heckle the BJP candidates in whichever village they campaign, but the party has kept to the towns largely.
The BJP supporters said they will not mind disciplined and peaceful protests. The party said: “If the farmers have the right to protest, we have the right to campaign.” The farmer unions said they will continue with their protest until the central BJP govt accepted their demands for legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) for all crops for all the farmers in the country based on the C2+50% formula, besides waiving of the farm loans and justice in the Lakhimpur Kheri case.
