Actor Paras Bhushan Kalnawat recently made a claim that, if given a chance, 80% of the cast of the show Anupamaa would opt to leave the show. Following her statement, actors Nidhi Shah and Ashish Mehrotra refuted her claim. Now Paras has reacted to the reaction of his co-stars and has given further clarification on his statement.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, the actor claimed that he simply spoke his mind and his co-stars had no reason to react. “I wrote about a bad experience I had on the sets of Anupamaa because of which I left the show. So, there was no need for her to comment on what I think and feel.”
The actor revealed that he got in touch with both his co-stars after reading their interviews. He said, “I told them how they have backstabbed me. And now if you go and ask them the same question (about my statement), their answers will be different.” [from what they originally said], That’s because I sent them proof of my claims – I have screenshots of messages from people working on the show who are not happy and want to leave because of the chaotic atmosphere, but are coming back because of their responsibilities. After that they had nothing to say about it – they know my complaints are genuine.”
Paras said, “There used to be verbal fights between actors shouting at each other. And everyone including me used to get dragged into it.” He further added, “It was an ugly rat race and clash of egos where none of the actors could see the others doing better than them. Instead of supporting each other, they were pulling the other person down. You 16 Won’t even see -16.” Fighting over the issues they used to fight about.”
The actor further explained the reason behind leaving the show. “It’s been a year, so I don’t even want to go into detail about the things they did against me. But, after our shots, I was in my room, and I didn’t feel like leaving until I Used to watch the scene because of all the chaos outside. It made life so difficult that I decided to choose the reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa over Anupama when given a choice,” he signed off.
