Anushka Sharma was left heartbroken after Virat Kohli was dismissed for 49 during the WTC final against Australia at the Oval Ground in London. The actress, who was cheering for her cricketer husband from the stands, was seen sitting quietly in her seat as Virat walked back to the dressing room. Before his dismissal, Virat scored 49 runs in 78 balls.

During India’s second innings on the fifth day, Virat Kohli was at the crease with Ajinkya Rahane and was scoring runs continuously. However, Virat lost his wicket by one run short of his half-century. Virat was caught by Steve Smith in the slips. The cricketer was facing the ball from Scott Boland. After his exit, the camera panned to Anushka, who was clearly heartbroken.

After Virat’s dismissal, Ravindra Jadeja walked in and was sent back to the dressing room on the second ball, with no runs scored for the team. At the time of reporting, Rahane is on the field, having contributed 41 runs, while Sreekar Bharath is at the crease with 15 runs. India stand at 206 for 5 at the time of reporting.

Anushka has been attending cricket matches to show her support for Virat. Earlier this year, she was involved in almost all the IPL matches played by Virat as part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. The team had a steady run but could not make it to the qualifiers. Anushka traveled with Virat and the team throughout the series and cheered them on in the matches.

On the work front, Anushka Sharma will be seen in Chakda Express. Anushka will play the role of cricketer Jhulan Goswami in the film. The biopic is inspired by the journey of Jhulan Goswami as she climbs the ladder to fulfill her dream of playing cricket for India despite problems created by wrong politics. This will be the actor’s first project when Anushka Sharma is going to portray the character of a cricketer. The film is going to release directly on Netflix.
