Suniel Shetty draws comparisons between action heroes of the present day and those of the 90s.

Suniel Shetty shared that unlike today’s action heroes who only needed body language, technology was a big deal back in the day.

Sunil Shetty has been one of the popular actors of the Indian film industry. In a career spanning nearly 30 years, he has acted in more than 100 films. The actor made his debut in 1992 at the age of 31 with Balwaan opposite Divya Bharti. Later, he established himself as an action hero with several films like Mohra, Ant, Pehchan, Dilwale among others. Comparing the action heroes of his time with those of the present day, the actor feels anyone can become an action star if he has the right body language.

During an interview with PTI, the Dharavi Bank actor explained, “Today, anyone who has body language can look like an action hero… action hero. Now, if you have body language and you are one of the ten, you can manage.”

He further added, “We had to do everything on our own. Like taking care of our security, technology and everything else. Had to struggle a lot to get the tag of action hero. At that time, there was a lot of risk involved when it came to doing the stunts that I used to do. That image came from movies like ‘Mohra’ and ‘Border’. And the action was different, I had my own style, which worked for me.”

Earlier this year, Suniel Shetty urged UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to help end the boycott trend against Bollywood. Explaining the reason behind this, the actor shared, “I was only seeking respect as Hindi cinema has contributed a lot to the culture, music, stories and narratives in India. My film ‘Border’ was a salute to the soldiers who died in that war. Everyone wants us to be everywhere, to help promote, to spread awareness, and we set out to do that, why is it that all of a sudden we’re seen as the villains and the only thing that What we’re trying to do is bring down our country.”
