According to Apple, the new Pride band design shows the original Pride flag rainbow colors and five others – black and brown to symbolize Black and Latino communities, in addition to those who have passed away or are living with HIV/AIDS. Shades of light blue, pink and white also represent transgender and non-binary individuals.
“This year’s design integrates a delightful rainbow of geometric shapes on a white base, compression-molded into the final band,” Apple said in a newsroom post.
In addition, there is a new Pride Celebration watch face and ios wallpaper for iPhone. Apple said the watch face and wallpaper honor the combined strength and mutual support of the LGBTQ+ community. Colorful shapes appear to spread from the band to the watch’s display, and react when a user raises their wrist and taps the display. The wallpaper is an interpretation of this year’s Pride design and moves dynamically when the user unlocks their iPhone.
