Apple Pay Later is now available for all US users: Key details – Times of India

iPhone maker Apple has announced a surprise Mac event called Scary Fast which is set for October 30. At this virtual event, the Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to launch its M3 chipsets. The company has yet to release the iOS 17.1 update for iPhones but has made one of its payment services available for all users in the US.
Apple introduced the Pay Later service with iOS 16 in June 2022 with its plans to enter the BNPL (buy now, pay later) market by the end of last year. The company made this service available to a handful of users as an “early access” staggered release in the US in March.
Apple Pay Later: Availability
Apple is promoting this service on its US site. Apple Pay Later is currently available only for users in the US. The company offers this service on Apple Pay transactions and it is different from Apple Card. Users can access the Pay Later payment information in Apple Wallet.
Apple Pay Later: How to use
The company will allow eligible buyers to break down a purchase into four equal payments. The initial payment will be due at purchase, followed by another payment every 14 days over six weeks. Apple won’t charge any interest on eligible transactions.
Apple claims that the service will be available on several apps and websites that accept Apple Pay. This service will also help users to more easily buy the things they want. Apple Pay Later will be applicable on purchases between $75 and $1000 made on iPhone and iPad.
To use this service, users have to choose the Apple Pay option at checkout while shopping online or in apps. Then users have to tap the Pay Later tab to start their application. Users don’t need to download any additional apps to use this service, nor do they set up any extra passwords. The company also claims that this service will have no impact on their credit score. Apple will also promptly notify users if their application is approved.
Before the payment is completed, Apple will also show users four new payments alongside their other upcoming Apple Pay Later instalments. Users can also set up auto-pay or can choose to pay manually at any time. Apple will also send users alerts and reminders to help users plan accordingly.
