Apple rolls out iOS 17.4 third beta update for iPhone developers: All the details | – Times of India

Apple has reportedly released the third beta update for its upcoming iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 update to developers for testing purposes. According to a report by MacRumors, the third beta update arrived within a week after Apple rolled out the second beta version.

How to get this update

Registered developers will be able to opt in for the beta update by opening the Settings app.Navigate to the Software Update section, tap on the “Beta Updates” option, and toggling on the iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 Developer Beta. An Apple ID associated with the developer account will be required to download and install the beta update.

iOS 17.4 update: What to expect

iOS 17.4 is expected to introduce multiple new changes to the way the App Store and apps operate in the European Union. These changes will pave the way for alternative app marketplaces, payment systems, third-party browser engine support and NFC access for banks and third-party payment providers. However, these features will be limited to the EU and won’t be available in other countries.
The upcoming update will also bring changes to gaming apps. With the launch of iOS 17.4, Apple will allow cloud gaming apps like Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now. Moreover, users will also be able to use mini games, chatbots, and plug-ins within the in-app purchase system.

Apart from this, iOS 17.4 will even add new emoji characters and transcripts for podcasts in the Podcasts app. The update will also bring support for using SharePlay with the HomePod, Stopwatch Live Activities and more.
This update may also change the name of the automatically Send Messages setting under Siri & Search to “Messaging with ‌Siri‌.” It may also allow users with an option to set ‌Siri‌ to read incoming messages in a specific language like Spanish, French, German, Chinese and others.
