Arjun Kapoor to start next schedule of film with Bhumi Pednekar, Rakul Preet in Rishikesh and Delhi

After director Ajay Behl’s upcoming thriller titled The Lady Killer, actors Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar will be seen together in a yet-to-be-titled romantic-comedy, which is being directed by filmmaker Mudassar Aziz. Actress Rakul Preet Singh is included in them. It is Mudassar’s next film after Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi and Ananya Panday.

Recently after wrapping up the UK schedule of the film, which began in September, Arjun recently jetted off to Rishikesh and Delhi, where the next schedule of the film will be shot.

Arjun, who made his acting debut with the romantic drama Ishaqzaade (2012), has recently been seen in serious roles such as Ek Villain Returns, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar (2021) and India’s Most Wanted (2019). But with Mudassar’s next, he returns to a light-hearted romantic-comedy, a genre that won him acclaim for films like 2 States (2014) and Ki and Ka (2016).

Talking about it, a source revealed, “Arjun is fully immersed in the shooting of this film and he will join Rakul and Bhumi in due course of time. The film presents him as the hero the audience always wanted to see and the romantic comedy genre has always worked for Arjun.

The source continues, “Hence, all eyes are set on how well this film does at the box office as Arjun has a natural audience because of the genre. The first schedule of the film was in the UK capital. The team is now gearing up to shoot the next schedule in Rishikesh and then Delhi.”

The film is reportedly slated for a theatrical release in mid-2023 and its plot is on the lines of filmmaker David Dhawan’s 1990s films. “It’s an out-and-out comedy and the title [Mere Husband Ki Biwi, reportedly] That in itself points to the peculiar elements that the script and screenplay introduce. It is a story of a hero and the humor arises from his situation of being caught in a love triangle,” a birdie had told Pinkvilla.

Apart from this rom-com, Arjun has a line-up of films like Kutty and The Ladykiller. Bhumi, on the other hand, has an untitled film with Govinda Naam Mera, Bhed, Afwah, Bhaskar and actor-singer Shehnaaz Gill. Rakul has her hands full with Chhatriwali, Aylaan and Indian 2.
