Varanasi: The five-day Subhash Mahotsav organised by Vishal Bharat Sansthan (VBS) at Subhash Bhawan at Lamahi village to commemorate the birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose concluded on Wednesday.
Artists from Manipur and Assam presented folk dances on the occasion. Additional director general (ADG) of police Ram Kumar attended the closing ceremony as chief guest and felicitated the artists with shawls and certificates.
The ADG said hearts can be connected through art and culture.The artists can build relationships, and this will help develop constructive relations with each other, ending all kinds of conflicts. Unity in diversity has been the cultural identity of India, he added. “We can fulfil Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s dreams only when we imbibe his ideologies and build a strong nation,” he said.
VBS president Rajeev Shriguruji said, “Artists are ambassadors of our culture. The people of north east are always respected in Kashi. The Vishal Bharat Sansthan will run a campaign to connect the people of north east with the mainstream of India through cultural promotion.”
