Ayodhya Ram Temple News: Ram Lalla idol 90% ready, installation on January 22 | Lucknow News – Times of India

AYODHYA: The idol of Lord Ram to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum of Ram temple is 90% ready, said general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, Champat Rai, on Wednesday.
The idol depicting the child form of Lord Ram is being constructed at three locations in Ayodhya. The religious committee of the temple trust will select the best idol on December 15 which will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on January 22.
“These idols are 90% ready and the finishing work will take a week more. Two idols are being made from two stones from Karnataka and one from Rajasthan,” said Rai. They are being made by three sculptors – Ganesh Bhatt and Arun Yogiraj from Karnataka and Satyanarayan Pandey from Jaipur.
Rai said the ground floor of the temple, which has the sanctum sanctorum, is almost ready.
The rituals for Pran-Pratishtha (consecration) of Ram Lalla will begin on January 16. Vedic priest from Varanasi, Lakshmi Kant Dixit, will perform the main rituals of the consecration ceremony on January 22.
